During these ever changing times, Common Ground remains committed to providing activities for our clients in any way we can. We are working hard to adapt to new and exciting platforms. We would like to introduce our new digital activities, where all of us can still get together, make memories, and stay engaged with our wonderful community. Our activities will be hosted on Zoom and on Facebook Live. Please look at our calendar for more activity information. These activities are resources for all of us to stay active, whether we are able to meet in person or not. Please share the link with your family and friends, the more the merrier!
Utah Adaptive Alliance and Disabled Sports USA
The Utah Adaptive Alliance is a great resource for anyone in the adaptive community looking for events in and around Utah. Disabled Sports USA is also offering a collection of nationwide adaptive programming during this time. During this time, virtual activities that other programs are providing are shown on their calendar, so you can fill your schedule with all of the fun activities Utah and the rest of the country has to offer!
What different virtual and digital activities do we offer?
Monday Group Chats
During this time of change and uncertainty, we want to continue to see everyone we work with! Every Monday afternoon at 4:00 pm we will host a group check in and hang out. Our community is so important, and we want to stay connected! During the check in we will share what we have been doing, updates on points for programs, share encouragement!
Group Crafts, Cooking, and Games
Virtual crafts and games with Common Ground! All activities will be focused on materials that most everyone has around their homes. If you do not have the materials, let us know, and we can help get them to you!
Virtual Outdoor Recreation
If you aren’t able to get out on the adventures you want right now, virtual bike rides, canoe trips, and hikes are be a way for all of us to remember the fun adventures we have had so far, and the exciting things still to come!
Virtual yoga and Zumba with CGOA staff to help and support participants while we are all doing the activity. Yoga sessions vary from 15 minutes to one hour, and incorporate a variety of adaptive techniques to make the experience beneficial for everyone! These activities are held every Wednesday at 11:00 am.
